EMBOLD™ Detachable Coil System case study

AVM treated with EMBOLD™ Fibered Coils

In this case study, we explore the treatment of bilateral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) using Embold™ Fibered Coils. The patient initially presented to the emergency room with multiple right-sided AVMs, prompting intervention. The medical team treated the right-sided AVMs and scheduled future procedures to address the left-sided AVM. Employing an 8 F guiding catheter, a 4 F diagnostic catheter, and a Direxion HI-FLO™ Microcatheter, the team navigated the left-sided AVM. Two 14 mm Embold Fibered Coils were positioned within the 11 mm nidus, accompanied by the placement of 10 mm and 8 mm coils within the feeding vessel. The AVM was successfully embolized.

Presentation

Patient presented to the ER with bilateral AVMs. Multiple right-sided AVMs were treated and the patient scheduled future treatment of the left-sided AVM.

Intervention

An 8 F guiding catheter, 4 F diagnostic catheter and a Direxion HI-FLO microcatheter were placed in the left-sided AVM. Two 14 mm Embold Fibered Coils were placed in the 11 mm nidus, and 10 mm and 8 mm coils were placed in the feeding vessel.

Outcome

The AVM was successfully embolized with Embold Fibered Coils.
