Boston Scientific education and training initiatives for practicing urology professionals

Education and training offerings for health care professionals

Industry can play a role in educating on the latest innovations and advancements, as well as new techniques to positively impact patient care. Below are various sponsorships and other initiatives that Boston Scientific is involved in to advance the field, including by working to attract more health care professionals to the field of urology.

American Urological Association (AUA)

  • Sole sponsor of FUTURE, a program designed for mentoring underrepresented minorities (URM)
  • Established an endowment in collaboration with the AUA’s Urology Care Foundation, which funds an annual fellowship for medical student from an underrepresented group to conduct urology-related research under the guidance of a mentor
  • Sponsored an annual educational program for prosthetic urologists who have subspecialized in sexual medicine

Endourological Society

  • Sponsor educational forums for women in urology at annual meetings
  • Sponsored 2024 Women in Urology/URM Fellowship

R. Frank Jones Urological Society (RFJUS)

  • Supported a prostate screening initiative in New Orleans in 2023 aimed at closing the treatment gap for diverse patients 
  • Hosted 10 leaders from the RFJUS and ConDUC for meetings and strategic discussions at Boston Scientific's Innovation Center in our Marlborough Global Headquarters

Society of Women in Urology (SWIU)

  • Sponsor programs at AUA Section Meetings focused on educating female urologists on Boston Scientific products and SWIU
  • Supported annual SWIU meeting

Women in Stone

  • Sponsor annual event at World Congress of Endourology
  • Boston Scientific is co-creator and sponsor of the receptions which educate women about Boston Scientific products and the Society for Women in Urology at the AUA Sectional Meetings. Ask us about how you can participate.

Women in Prosthetic Urology (WIPU)

  • Boston Scientific Urology sponsors several educational events per year with WIPU.
