Reduce vascular access site complications
Mustang potentially helps to reduce the need of a closure device, and the risk of post procedural bleeding :
- Mustang is a larger treatment device used through smaller holes (with smaller sheath sizes : sheath compatibility from 5F to 7F)
- Mustang benefits from a low entry profile which helps to reduce patient complications.
- The tip is only 15% larger than the wire and is coated with Mediglide silicone to facilitate sheath insertion in the patient.
Safe Navigation through Tortuous Anatomy
Mustang is designed to reduce the risk of plaque displacement. Adding a thin, outer layer of material greatly minimizes the effects of stress on the outside of the balloon.*

The balloon is wrapped on either 3 wing (3-5mm balloon length) or 5 wing (6mm and plus balloon length) format which helps to improve trackability of the device.

The use of Pebax in the construction of the shaft enhances pushability and helps prevent kinking while the device is advances through tortous anatomy.
The balloon lumen is large which provides quick inflate and deflate time (which helps reduce procedure time and patient exposure to radiation).
- Highly visible: Mustang has two highly visible swaged 1.5 mm wide Platinium Iridium RO markers and the dilatation zone is defined by the outside edge to the outside edge of the marker bands.

One balloon for multiple indications
The Mustang Balloon Dilatation Catheter is indicated for Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty (PTA) in the peripheral vasculature, including iliac, femoral, popliteal, tibial, peroneal, subclavian, and renal arteries and for the treatment of obstructive lesions of native or synthetic arteriovenous dialysis fistulae.

The tip and the balloon of Mustang are coated with Mediglide which provides a smooth and safe navigation through tortuous anatomy.
Optimization of the tip
The low profile 0,040’’ (1,01mm) lesion entry profile is designed to enable crossability through tight stenosis. The tip is tapered to facilitate crossing and minimize force needed to cross lesions and it is laser bonded for smooth tip/shaft/balloon transition.
Rapid inflation and deflation times

Mustang is designed to provide a rapid inflating and deflating time (for instance the 6 x 40mm balloon deflates in 4 seconds) which will help you to reduce procedure time.
